Giants 2, Cardinals 1 (12-16)
The Cardinals two game winning streak came to an abrupt end when Jimmy Ring outdueled Bill Sherdel on the mound. Sherdel gave up only two runs on eight hits but Ring was just a touch better and held the Cardinals to a single run.
Les Bell homered and accounted for the lone Cardinals run. Rogers Hornsby and Jim Bottomley both had two hits in the loss.
