Billy Southworth and Les Bell Homer in Cardinals Loss

Giants 5, Cardinals 3  (48-42)

The Cardinals dropped their series opener with the New York Giants and Grover Alexander took the loss.  He gave up five runs, including three in the final two frames, on eight hits and a walk.  He struck out one

Billy Southworth and Les Bell both homered for the Cardinals.  Southworth finished the game with one hit and two runs and Bell three hits and a run.
