The Cardinals avoided a sweep at the hand of the Astros with a very solid outing by Bob Gibson.  He improved to 7-5 and he gave up just two runs (one earned) on four hits with nine strikeouts in the complete game.

Bobby Tolan led the way for the Cardinals at the plate.  He went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run.  Julian Javier went two for four with a solo homerun.
