Cardinals 6, Phillies 0  (91-55)

The Cardinals magic number was cut down to seven as they took care of the Phillies for their second straight win.  Bob Gibson picked up the win and he improved to 12-6.  He gave up five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.  Larry Jaster got the final eight batters out in succession and he earned his third save of the season.

Dal Maxvill went two for four with two RBIs and a run.  Bob Gibson helped out his own cause with two singles, a run and an RBI.
