Bob Gibson Solid In Final Tune Up Game Before World Series

Cardinals 3, Braves 1  (99-60)

Bob Gibson got his final tune up start and he looked as good as ever despite not getting the win.  He gave up just one unearned run on eight hits and three walks with eigth strikeouts in nine innings.  Ron Willis shut down the Braves in the tenth and the eleventh inning and he improved to 6-5.

Mike Shannon singled home Curt Flood in the top of the eleventh to win the game.  Flood finished the game with two hits and two runs while Orlando Cepeda went two for four with an RBI.
