Jesse Haines was outdueled by Carl Mays in the Cardinals loss to the Reds. Haines gave up four runs on seven hits in six innings of work. He walked two and struck out one.
Bob O’Farrell tripled twice, drove in a run and scored one of the Cardinals’ two runs. Chick Hafey scored the other run on O’Farrell’s first triple.
