News, Notes and Historical Information on the St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals improved their spring record to 4-3 yesterday with a blowout win over the Dodgers. Skip Schumaker had a big game with two homeruns and three RBIs while Chris Duncan, John Rodriguez and Edgar V. Gonzalez all went yard as well.
Braden Looper looked sharp and threw 3 1/3 innings of shutout ball in his longest start of the spring. He gave up four hits and he struck out one. The Cardinals take on the Twins today (although they’ll be going against their B team, they have a split squad game).
And for more on Skip Schumaker, here’s a great column about him by Matthew Leach.
