A pretty good start by Ray Washburn went to waste as the Braves handed the Cardinals their second straight defeat.  He gave up just two runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven solid innings.  Ron Willis gave up one of two Braves runs in the ninth inning and he fell to 5-5 on the season.

Mike Shannon went three for four and he scored a run in the loss.  Tim McCarver singled and drove in a run in his only at bat of the game.
