by @ 3:50 am. Filed under 1967 Cardinals, 1967 Cardinals Diary - September

September 10, 1967 at Forbes Field
Pirates 8, Cardinals 7  (89-55)

The Cardinals blew two big leads in a disappointing loss to the Pirates.  Ray Washburn was touched up for four runs in just 3 2/3 innings and the pen appeared to calm things down until the eighth inning.  Then Al Jackson and Joe Hoerner combined to give up four runs in the inning to turn a 7-4 lead into an 8-7 loss.

Lou Brock went two for five with two RBIs and he stole his 46th base of the season.  Dal Maxvill went two for three with a walk, two runs and two RBIs.
