Bullpen Hammered in Blow Out Loss to Mets

by @ 6:52 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

Alright, the Cards went out on a winning note last year but so far, they haven’t picked up a win yet in three games.  Braden Looper was pretty good in his first career start but it looks like he was left in there an inning longer then he should have been.  He gave up three runs but they were all in the sixth.  After that, the wheels fell of the wagon and Josh Hancock gave up two runs and Russ Springer gave up five in some pretty poor relief pitching.

In the meantime, the offense was held to two singles.  That’s not going to win you many ball games.  Tomorrow’s a new day though and it’s also a day off as the Cardinals will travel to Houston for a three game series.  Adam Wainwright will get to prove his worth as a starter and hopefully he’ll be able to get the Cardinals back on track.
