The Cardinals got some awesome pitching in this game as Larry Jaster and Joe Hoerner combined to hold the Dodgers to three hits.  Jaster threw nine innings in his start and then Hoerner threw two perfect innings and he improved to 3-1 on the season.

The game winning hit was a three run walk off homerun in the eleventh by Roger Maris.  Bobby Tolan finished the game with three hits and he drove in the other Cardinals run with a two run homer.
