September 15, 1926 at the Baker Bowl

Cardinals 9, Phillies 2  (83-60)

The Cardinals turned on the offense as they topped the Phillies.  The end result is, they remain just a few percentage points below the Reds in a virtual tie for the National League pennant.

Les Bell, Chick Hafey and Tommy Thevenow all had two runs in the blowout win.  Jesse Haines cruised to an easy win.  He gave up a bunch of hits (11) but only allowed two runners to cross the plate.
