June 7, 1967 at Busch Stadium
Astros 17, Cardinals 1 (27-20)
Steve Carlton came out after five innings for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the fifth and he left down 3-1. While he took the loss and fell to 4-2, it was the pen who really put this game out of reach. Four different relievers gave up runs and Hal Woodeshick was tagged for six runs and Ron Willis gave up five in what would be the most lopsided loss for the Cardinals the whole season.
Tim McCarver was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
