Robins 3, Cardinals 1 (10-15)
The Cardinals slipped to five games below .500 for the first time this season with a tough loss to the Robins. The game was tied 1-1, but the Robins scored two runs in the eighth to give them what they needed to win. Bil Hallahan took the loss and he gave up three runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
Once again, the Cardinals bats were held in check. Tommy Thevenow singled twice and the only Cardinals’ run came on a solo homerun by Jim Bottomley.
