The Cardinals dropped their fourth straight game and they also suffered their first sweep of the season in their series finale with the Pirates.  Al Jackson was hit hard and he took the loss.  He gave up four runs on six hits with a strikeout in just two innings.  Dick Hughes was also hit hard and he gave up three runs in two innings.

Alex Johnson hit a solo homerun in the loss.  Lou Brock went one for five with two RBI and Curt Flood went two for four with a run.
