Cubs 10, Cardinals 9 (23-25)
The Cardinals continued their struggles and dropped a high scoring one run game to the Cubs. The Cardinals had the lead in two instances and tied the game up one other time but a single run in the bottom of the eighth by the Cubs was the difference.
Bill Sherdel got the start and he was hit hard. He last only 3 1/3 innings. Allen Sothoron took the loss and he gave up four runs in 3 2/3 innings.
Jim Bottomley went yard for the Cardinals. Ray Blades, Bottomley and Les Bell all scored twice and five different Cubs had a multihit game.
