April 24, 1967 at Dodger Stadium
Dodgers 6, Cardinals 5 (7-3)
It may have taken thirteen innings, but the Cardinals lost back to back games for the first time this season. They came from behind from being down 4-2 to send the game into extra innings and they even took a 5-4 lead in the top of the thirteenth but the Dodgers scored two runs in the bottom of the thirteenth to win it.
Larry Jaster was hit hard in the first three frames and he gave up four runs. Five different relievers then shut out the Dodgers over the next nine frames but in Joe Hoerner’s fourth inning of work, he finally succumbed and gave up both the tying run and the game winner.
Lou Brock continued his incredible April with three more hits, including a triple. He drove in two and scored once. Curt Flood had two hits and an RBI while Juian Javier had a single, a walk and two runs.
