Cardinals Edge Braves As Season Winds Down

Cardinals 5, Braves 4  (98-59)

Tim McCarver and Curt Flood both went yard as the Cardinals got one day closer to the World Series.  Both homers were solo shots but McCarver finished the game with two RBIs while Mike Shannon went two for four with an RBI.

Nelson Briles gave up four runs in seven innings in his start.  Larry Jaster threw two shutout innings and he improved to 9-7 with the win.
