Cardinals Edge Braves In Twelve Innings

Cardinals 5, Braves 4  (97-58)

The Cardinals almost let this game get away as they blew a three run lead in the ninth inning only to win it in the eleventh inning on an RBI single by Mike Shannon.  Curt Flood had a big game and he went three for three with a walk and a run.  Lou Brock tripled, drove in a run and scored.

Al Jackson picked up the win with 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief to improve to 9-4.  Mike Torrez had a solid start and he gave up one run in five innings.
