Cardinals 3, Robins 2 (59-48)
The Cardinals finished a huge six game series against the Robins with six consecutive wins. Bill Sherdel gave a up run in each of the first two innings, but held the Robins scoreless through the next eight frames.
Ray Blades led off the tenth inning with a single and then both he and Billy Southworth were safe on a throwing error by the Robins. Then Rogers Hornsby came up huge with a double to drive home Ray Blades for the game winner.
Hornsby finished the game with three hits, a run and then the go ahead RBI. Jim Bottomley and Blades both had two hits and a run.
