The Cardinals took a 2-1 lead in the NLCS. They jumped out to a four run lead in the first inning and never looked back. The Brewers scored two in the second and one in the third but they held on the rest of the way to win it.
Carptenter lasted five innings and he gave up the five runs. Then it was the LaRussa pen with Jason Motte closing it out. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and he picked up his third save of the post-season.
David Freese went three for four with an RBI. Albert Pujols also had a nice game and he went two for two with two walks, a run and an RBI.
Game four is tomorrow and with a Cards win, they could take a commanding lead. It’ll be Kyle Lohse against Randy Wolf.
