Cardinals Held to Five Hits In Shutout Loss to Giants

Giants 2, Cardinals 0  (81-51)

The Cardinals couldn’t push a single runner across the plate as they were shutout by Giants starter Cal Koonce.  Phil Gagliano and Dick Hughes each had two hits but all five of the Cardinals hits were singles.

Hughes fell to 13-5 despite a nice start.  He gave up two runs on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts in eight innings.
