by @ 5:07 pm. Filed under 1967 Cardinals, 1967 Cardinals Diary - July

July 4, 1967 at Busch Stadium
Reds 1, Cardinals 0  (46-30)

Gary Nolan outdueled Larry Jaster as the Cardinals lost a tough pitcher’s duel.  Jaster fell to 5-4 despite not giving up a run until the ninth inning.  He gave up just the one run on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings.

The Cardinals got nothing done at the plate.  Three singles and two walks and that was it.  The only hitter to reach base twice was Curt Flood with a single and a walk.
