Cardinals Lose In Ten As Season’s First Half Ends

by @ 4:51 pm. Filed under 1967 Cardinals, 1967 Cardinals Diary - July

July 9, 1967 at Connie Mack Stadium
Phillies 4, Cardinals 3  (49-32)

Ron Willis gave up a homerun in the bottom of the tenth inning as the Cardinals lost their last game of the season half.  It was unfortunate because a solid start by Larry Jaster went to waste.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks in 7 1/3 innings.

Roger Maris went three for five with a run.  Orlando Cepeda went two for five with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base.
