Cubs 3, Cardinals 2  (62-41)

The Cardinals scored two runs in the eighth inning but it wasn’t enough as the Cardinals six game winning streak came to an end.  Nelson Briles dropped to 5-5 on the season with the loss.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with one strikeout in 5 1/3 innings.

Curt Flood singled and drove in a run in the loss.  Alex Johnson singled in his only at bat and he drove in a run as well.
