A pretty good start by Ray Washburn went to waste as the Cardinals lost to the Astros for the second straight time.  Washburn fell to 2-3 on the season and he gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in eight innings of work.

Alex Johnson had two of the Cardinals’ six hits and he drove in one of the two runs.  Mike Shannon drove in the other run with a solo shot, his third homerun of the season.
