Cardinals On the Brink of Elimination After Game Three Loss

by @ 4:42 pm. Filed under 2011 Cardinals

Jaime Garcia was on his game but he wasn’t quite good enough because the Cardinals lost to the Phillies 3-2.  The big hit was a three run home run by Ben Francisco and while the Cardinals put a couple on the board to make it a one run game, it just wasn’t quite good enough.

Garcia pitched seven innings and he was good other then that one frame.  Fernando Salas and Jason Motte threw a shutout inning each to wrap up the game.

Ryan Theriot went for four for five in the win.  Albert Pujols also had a great game and he went four for five with a run.

The Cardinals need to win.  Game four is tomorrow and it’ll be all up to Edwin Jackson.
