by @ 6:16 pm. Filed under 1926 Cardinals, 1926 Cardinals Diary - June

June 21, 1926 at Forbes Field
Pirates 13, Cardinals 11  (35-27)

The Cardinals six game winning streak came to an end in a crazy game with the Pirates.  The two teams combined for 23 runs and 28 hits, and the Cardinals used six different pitchers in the game.  Despite the high number of runs, not a single homerun was hit.

Ray Blades went three for four with three runs in the game while Bob O’Farrell had two hits and three runs.  Rogers Hornsby singled twice and doubled in the loss.
