Cardinals 8, Robins 7 (64-50)
Bill Sherdel got knocked around and didn’t even make it through three innings in this one. Fortunately the Cardinals stormed back late in the game and won by a single run. Down 7-3, the Cardinals scored five runs in the seventh inning to beat the Robins 8-7.
Pete Alexander picked up the win with two shutout relief innings. Billy Southworth had a huge game. He went two for five with two homeruns and four RBIs.
