Cardinals Six Game Win Streak Ends With Shutout Loss to Braves

by @ 5:14 pm. Filed under 1926 Cardinals, 1926 Cardinals Diary - August

August 9, 1926 at Braves Field

Braves 5, Cardinals 0  (59-49)

Art Reinhart got the start against the Braves, and after four runs in the first innings, he got pulled in the fifth.  He would have needed a perfect outing though, because the Cardinals couldn’t muster anything against Braves starter Larry Benton.

The Cardinals scattered five hits against Benton.  The only extra base hit was by Bob O’Farrell, who doubled.
