The Cardinals won their eighth straight game as they continue to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Pirates. This time is was Jesse Haines with the great pitching performance.  He gave up two runs on five hits and three walks.

Les Bell had a big game.  He homered, doubled and score a run.  Wattie Holm had two singles and scored.
