The Cardinals eight game winning streak came to an end as the Cards were on the short end of a pitcher’s duel.  A pretty good start by Larry Jaster went to waste in the loss.  He fell to 7-6 and he gave up just the two runs on five hits and two walks with a strikeout in six innings.

Bobby Tolan drove in the lone Cardinals run in the loss.  Lou Brock went one for five and he scored the only run.
