Chris Carpenter Hit Hard in Cardinals Loss

by @ 6:59 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

The good news is, it’s only one game.  The bad news is, Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter was taken for a ride tonight against the Mets.  He gave up five runs on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings.  At least he put his time and the Cards didn’t have to work the pen too hard this early, although they do have a day off tomorrow.

The Cardinals racked up ten hits but they hit into four double plays.  David Eckstein had three hits, including a double and he drove in the only Cardinals run of the game.

Next game is Tuesday and it’ll be Kip Wells on the mound for the Cardinals in a night game.
