Dodgers 9, Cardinals 3 (7-2)
The Cardinals actually matched the Dodgers with ten hits but Cardinals’ pitchers gave up eight walks and some of those free passes came back to haunt the team. Ray Washburn had another rough outing. He gave up six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks in only 3 1/3 innings of work. Three other relievers also gave up runs.
Lou Brock had yet another good game at the plate. He went three for four with a run and an RBI. Dal Maxvill had two hits and run as did Curt Flood.
