News, Notes and Historical Information on the St. Louis Cardinals

For all the talk about the Mets pitching, they haven’t done too bad against us. El Duque pretty much shut down the Cardinals high powered attack last night and between him and some relievers, the Cardinals managed just a single run on six hits. That lone run came in the seventh inning on Scott Rolen’s solo homerun.
Kip Wells threw a good enough game but he took the loss. He gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
Braden Looper gets the ball today and he’ll hopefully make sure the Cardinals don’t get swept. This one is on ESPN2 so I’ll be tuning in for sure.
