June 30, 1926 at Forbes Field
Cardinals 6, Pirates 2  (39-30)

The Cardinals took the first game of an important four game set with the third place Pirates.  Ray Blades had a huge game in the win.  He went three for four with a homerun, a triple and two runs.  Les Bell hit a three run homerun in the top of the ninth to give the Cardinals a bunch of insurance heading into the Pirate’s half of the ninth.

Jesse Haines picked up the win.  He gave up two runs on seven hits with two strike outs.
