Jesse Haines completely shut down the Boston Braves in his second shutout of the season.  This one was a five hit shutout in which he struck out one.

The Cardinals didn’t score their two runs until the eighth inning.  Jim Bottomley and Taylor Douthit singled in the inning, and then Bob O’Farrell doubled them both home.
