Jim Bottomley Does it Again For Cardinals in Second Straight Win Over Cubs

Cardinals 5, Cubs 4  (63-50)

Yesterday, Jim Bottomley came up with a huge game to help push the Cardinals over the Cubs.  Today, Bottomley singled with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to break a 4-4 tie and win the game for the Cards.

Jesse Haines was knocked around by the Cubs but he walked away with the win.  He gave up four runs on nine hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
