Jim Bottomley Powers Cardinals to Win Over Cubs

Cardinals 7, Cubs 2  (62-50)

The Cardinals got back on track behind a huge game by Jim Bottomley.  Bottomley finished three for three with a homerun, a triple and three runs scored.  Les Bell went two for four with a homerun of his own.

Flint Rhem won his sixteenth game of the season.  He gave up two runs on only six hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
