Cardinals 3, Giants 1 (43-24)
Rookie Jim Cosman won his first start of the season as the Cardinals took care of the Giants in a low scoring affair. Cosman gave up one unearned run on four hits and seven walks with three strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings. Nelson Briles got the final two batters out and he picked up his fourth save of the season.
Ed Spiezio went two for four with a run and an RBI. Orlando Cepeda continued his hot hitting and he went two for four with a run.
