The Cardinals ran up the score on the Dodgers to win their third straight game to open up the season. Lou Brock had a monster game. He went four for six with two homeruns, five RBIs and three runs. Orlando Cepeda and Tim McCarver both had good games as well. They both had three hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Al Jackson picked up an easy win despite giving up four runs in seven innings of work. Hal Woodeshick threw the final two frames and picked up the save.
