Mike Shannon Drives In Four Runs In Cardinals Win

Cardinals 6, Mets 4  (52-36)

The Cardinals snapped their three game losing streak and it was Mike Shannon who provided the bulk of the offense.  He went two for three with a homerun and four RBIs.  Dal Maxvill also had a nice game and he went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.

Dick Hughes picked up the win and he improved to 8-3 on the season.  He gave up four runs on ten hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings.  Nelson Briles got the final batter out and he picked up his sixth save of the season.
