Nelson Briles Pitches Cardinals to Split With Dodgers

The Cardinals salvaged a split in their four game series with the Dodgers and they did it by winning the finale behind the arm of Nelson Briles.  He improved to 9-5 and he gave up just two runs on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts in eight innings of work.  Joe Hoerner picked up his 14th save with a shutout ninth.

Phil Gagliano went three for four in the win.  Julian Javier went two for four with a triple, a run and an RBI.
