Cardinals 11, Mets 9 (19-11)
Things didn’t start out well in the Cardinals come from behind win but they came back from a 9-4 deficit to beat the Mets 11-9. Orlando Cepeda led the way with a great day at the plate. He went three for five with a homerun, four RBIs and two runs. Julian Javier also had a nice game and he went three for four with two runs.
The pitching had a rough time and Al Jackson gave up four runs in three innings. Joe Hoerner picked up the win with two shutout innings and Larry Jaster picked up his second save with a shutout ninth.
