Cardinals 3, Reds 2 (67-41)
Orlando Cepeda had just one hit in the Cardinals fifth straight win but it was a huge one because his three run homer, the twentith homer for Cepeda on the season, gave the Cardinals all three of there runs to finish up a sweep over the Reds. Curt Flood was the only Cards hitter with two hits and he also scored on Cepeda’s homer.
Nelson Briles improved to 6-5 on the season with 5 1/3 decent innings. He gave up two runs on seven hits with one strikeout. Jack Lamabe got the final batter of the game out and he picked up his third save of the season.
