Phillies 7, Cardinals 5 (18-19)
The Cardinals didn’t stay at .500 for very long as they dropped their series finale to the Phillies 7-5. The Phillies jumped all over starter Walt Huntzinger and by the end of two innings, he was out of the game and the Phillies had four runs. In all, Rogers Hornsby used four pitchers in the game.
Jake Flowers hit the only homerun for the Cardinals when he pinch hit in the seventh inning. Jim Bottomley was the only Cardinal to have two hits and all five runs were scored by five different Cardinals.
