Ray Washburn went the distance in the Cardinals 3-2 win over the Mets. He gave up just two runs on seven hits and he struck out three in his second win of the season.
Most of the offense for the Cards came via the long ball. Lou Brock hit a solo homerun and he scored two runs while Roger Maris finished with two hits, one of which was a solo homer.
