Red Sox 8, Cardinals 4
Best of Seven Game Series Tied 3-3
Three different pitchers were knocked around by the Red Sox as the Cardinals would now have to play a winner take all game seven. Dick Hughes was knocked around for four runs and while the Cardinals came back to tie it at 4-4, Jack Lamabe and Joe Hoerner gave up a pair of runs a piece as the Red Sox busted the game open with a four run seventh inning.
Lou Brock was the hitting star in the loss and he played a role in all four Cardinals runs. He went two for five with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Curt Flood singled and drove in a run while Roger Maris reached base twice with two singles and a walk.
All four of the runs that Hughes gave up came on four different solo homers. Lamabe took the loss as he gave up the runs that broke the 4-4 tie.
