In a complete reversal of their series in St. Louis, the Cardinals and Reds got into another pitcher’s dual in the second game of their doubleheader.  Syl Johnson was good, but Red’s starter Carl Mays was even better in the 2-1 loss.

Jim Bottomley tripled and scored the only run of the game for the Cardinals.  Rogers Hornsby and Les Bell both had two hits in the game.
