Albert Pujols hit a big home run in the 8th ining to tie the game, but the Cardinals would fall apart in the 10th and lose their 6th of 7 games in an 8-4 loss to the Pirates last night.
Kyle Lohse pitched well, hopefuly regaining some of his early-season form in giving up 4 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings. Pujols blasted his 8th homer of the year while Troy Glaus cae through from the 5 spot in the order, going 2-3 with 3 RBI and his 2nd home run as a Cardinal. Unfortunately, Ron VIllone gave up 4 runs in the 10th, which allowe the Pirates to go up for good.
The Cards will try to recover tonight at 7:15pm (Central time) as Todd Wellemeyer (3-1, 3.56 ERA) faces Pitssburgh lefty Paul Manholm (2-3, 4.79 ERA).
